Condiments

So I leave for Mayo on Sunday, October 25th.... meaning I should be there Monday evening- after all of the WAY FUN sightseeing we will be doing between here and there. I am the kindof traveler that will stop to see anything quirky and out of the ordinary, so DRIVING is the best way for me to go. I have presents for Morgan to open for the first 7 days (little trinkets I have been 'collecting'), but nothing after that.... hopefully we will be back by then! I'll update daily- or, as much as I can..... I can Tweet, Facebook, and get Email from my phone if anyone wants to send me a message.

Really?

The summer is officially half way over for me. Morgan came into town last weekend for a brief visit; we decided to go to NRH20 and then to see Harry Potter. NRH20 was full of fun, as was Harry Potter... However, I think I probably only saw about 1/2 of it as Morgan TALKED THE ENTIRE TIME, despite the constant threats of HAVING TO SIT IN THE CAR BY HERSELF if she couldn't be quiet. There are several things I still want to get done before the summer is gone... and I definitely want to be able to say that I used my time to myself wisely and none was wasted.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Let me just say that I totally deserve an award for getting to, and staying at, work today. During the night we had horrible rain, awesome lightening and angry thunder- and then as a bonus we got to wake up to the same weather, only to be granted admission to an episode of "North Texan's Don't Know How to Drive in Anything Other Than Sun." Why is it that if something is falling out of the sky, people forget even the basic driving skills (keeping the speed limit, using a blinker, not tailgating...)? And not only that, but despite warnings on radio and television (oh, and common sense) people STILL drive through high water? The good news is there is no damage to my car, my apartment, or my mental stability. The bad news? We might have to go through the whole thing again tonight. Oh, and M is still gone.

Parental Rights and Responsiblities

My parental rights have been terminated. Atleast for the summer. M is with her father in Maryland and I am faced with a dilemma- how do I make the most of my time, having as much fun as possible, while she is gone? I have a list started- books to read, movies to see, places to go, projects to begin (and hopefully finish). Where do I start? And how do I make this summer something to remember, and not something I look back on and say, "I wish I would have....."?
